Safety and Health Specialist DIRECT HIRE opportunity!
Position Summary:
Establishes and promotes a safe and healthy work environment by performing various procedures
Essential Job Functions:
- Recommend measures to help protect workers from potentially hazardous work methods, processes, or materials
- Investigate accidents to identify root causes and recommend corrective action plans
- Inspect or evaluate workplace environments, equipment, or practices to ensure compliance with safety standards and government regulations
- Develop or maintain hygiene programs, such as noise surveys, continuous atmosphere monitoring, and chemical exposure monitoring
- Provide new-employee health and safety orientations and develop materials for these presentations
- Conducting inspections and audits throughout the entire manufacturing facility to identify existing and potential hazards
- Train employees in safety procedures in fall protection devices and aerial lifts
- Coordinates actions of first aide and emergency response planning
- Formulates and interprets safety policies and procedures in compliance with OSHA regulations
- Serves as a backup for administering workers compensation
- Serves as company’s liaison with property loss prevention insurance carriers
- Creates, coordinates, and leads training programs and safety meetings
Job Requirements:
- Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Health and Environment or equivalent years of safety experience in a manufacturing environment
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
