Job Title: Medical Office Assistant (Hybrid)

 

Employment Type: Part-time hours

 

Compensation: $18-$22 per hour depending on experience

 

A growing mobile podiatry practice primarily serving skilled nursing facilities, assisted living communities, and wound centers is expanding and looking to hire an experienced Medical Office Assistant to join their team! This long-term part-time position has the potential to become full-time in the future with room to grow within the practice.

 

The Medical Office Assistant will play a supportive role, assisting current office staff. This role is mostly remote, with occasional local travel required. Candidates must have a valid driver’s license and the ability to travel to Chester, Delaware and/or Montgomery County as needed.

 

Responsibilities to include but not limited to:

  • Schedule and reschedule patients for doctor appointments
  • Enter patient information into EMR system
  • Obtain clinical data from Point Click Care (PCC) or the facilities
  • Send chart notes to the facilities
  • Phone coverage as needed
  • Verify insurance, obtain authorizations/referrals, and assist with insurance inquiries
  • Assist with ‘soft collections’ and special projects as well as various other medical office tasks as needed

 

Requirements:

  • Experience in a medical office setting with relevant references
  • Experience with Practice Fusion or other EMR systems is strongly preferred
  • Prior scheduling experience for multiple doctors in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience verifying patient insurance, understanding benefits, and tracking referrals and authorizations
  • Familiarity with Updox and Point Click Care is a plus
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to interact professionally with doctors, internal staff as well as patients and vendors
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently with minimum supervision as well as work as a part of the team.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Word, Excel, Google Docs, email, and online faxing
  • Excellent problem-solving and time management skills, attention to detail, and ability to multitask while meeting deadlines
