The Purchasing Assistant is responsible for providing administrative support to the buyers of the Purchasing Department.
Essential job functions:
- Purchase order and vendor follow-up such as acknowledgements, backorders, shipping errors and discrepancies, damages, etc...
- Create necessary documents for buyers including documents for returning goods to vendors
- Assist buyers in communication with other departments such as Sales and Customer Service
- Experience with Microsoft Office Programs, including Outlook and Excel required
- Some experience with purchasing processes and inventory management preferred, but not required
