Shuttle Driver at Alvernia University
Currently looking for two individuals:
- 1 person to work 1st shift hours 10:30am – 6pm with a starting rate of $16.48 per hour
- 1 person to work 2nd shift 2:30pm – 10:30pm with a starting rate of $20 per hour
Job Duties/Essential Functions- including but are not limited to:
- Safely transport members of the Alvernia University community to their destinations, ensuring a comfortable and secure journey.
- Maintain accurate records of ridership statistics.
- Perform daily inspections, safety checks, report any issues, and ensure vehicles are clean and fueled for optimal operation.
- Responsible for filing reports on equipment, delays, incidents, or accidents.
- Be friendly, courteous, and helpful towards passengers, creating a positive experience.
- Strictly adhere to all governmental laws and guidelines related to safe transportation.
- Maintain a punctual schedule and minimize delays in transportation.
- Assist in minor repairs and maintenance of equipment and vehicles as needed.
- Maintain open and effective communication with fellow drivers and staff.
Qualifications/Education:
- Wholeheartedly align with the mission statement, core values, and goals of Alvernia University.
- Strong organizational abilities to manage schedules and routes effectively.
- High School Diploma
- Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with air brake and passenger (P) endorsement.
Physical Requirements:
- Attendance is essential to fulfill the duties of this role.
- Maintain the required health and wellness certifications as mandated by law and policy for providing transportation services.
- Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs is required.
